Doyle Holt Parsons, 74, of Hixson, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018.

He was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Doyle received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in 1969 and was employed by Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga as an electrical engineer until his retirement.

Doyle was preceded in death by his father, Howard S. Parsons and a brother, LaDon Parsons.

Doyle is survived by his wife, Cheryl McDowell Parsons, and his son, Morgan Parsons of Hixson; mother, Louise Petty Parsons of Shelbyville; sisters, Gayle Wasson of Tullahoma and Faye Hane of Sunnyvale, California.

He was a member of Red Bank United Methodist Church of Chattanooga.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at Chattanooga Memorial Park with Reverend Chris Smith officiating.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416 or Life Care Center of Red Bank, 1020 Runyan Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37405. 

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
