The East Ridge City Council, at a special called meeting on Monday morning, voted to dissolve the controversial East Ridge Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
Those in favor were Esther Helton, Larry Sewell, Brian Williams and Jacky Cagle.
Mayor Brent Lambert said Present.
The group had aimed to clean up derelict property along Ringgold Road.
However, there had been an outcry from citizens after letters went out to a number of home and business owners who feared their property might be ordered demolished.
Several citizens spoke at the meeting in favor of dissolving the group.
