Riverside High School won three State Basketball Championships in a five-year span - 1968, 1969, and 1972. The one constant was Lebron “Dead-Eye” Turman.

With a nickname like that one might think he was a prolific scorer on the basketball team. But Lebron was the team manager.

Beginning in his sophomore year through his senior year in 1968, when Riverside won their first State Basketball Championship, he was the team manager. Dead-eye continued after graduation of volunteering to be the team manager through the next two State Championships of 1969 and 1972.

Valerie Scott, Regina Tate and Denise Drake recently visited Mr.
Turman at an assisted living facility and presented him with a “Straight Outta Riverside” T-shirt.

“We would do this for anyone!!! Trojans pride," said Valerie Scott. “Denise came out in 75. Regina and I came out in the Great class of ‘81. They all were great."
