Dr. Johnson Says Equity Study To Ramp Back Up

  • Friday, July 20, 2018

Supt. Bryan Johnson told members of the School Board on Thursday that the controversial equity study will ramp back up.

He said an Equity Task Force would resume holding meetings soon.

Also, he said he would have a recommendation for the board next month on a consultant group to help with the effort.

The task force had been meeting behind closed doors until board members Rhonda Thurman and Joe Smith denounced a plan by the group UnifiEd Ed for the schools to become involved in racial integration.

In turn, UnifiEd leaders slammed the two board members.
