Brown, Roby Allen II (Jasper)

Roby Allen Brown II, passed July 20, 2018, away peacefully at home after a lengthy struggle with Huntington's Disease.

 

Roby was born to Jack and Maina Ketner (one of the oldest families in Marion County) Brown. Roby was raised in Jasper and was educated in the public school system. After high school, Roby began working in the family business, Jasper Western Auto, with his dad. Roby took over the business in the early 80's where he worked until he retired in 2010. Roby was recognized with several business awards during his working career.  


Roby was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed everything from swimming, water skiing, hunting and fishing. He was a faithful rider of the Annual Trail of Tears Ride and made the journey many times to Oklahoma to the Indian Nations. Roby was also active in his community and served as President of the Jasper Jaycees. Roby was a member of the McKendree United Methodist Church and attended services until he was no longer able.  


Roby was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret Wynne Brown, and step-daughter, Lacey Belk.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sally Snipes Brown; sister, Jackie (Gary) Chrisman; children, Jeff (Lacey) Brown, The Woodlands, TX, Neil (Mary) Brown, Hendersonville, TN, Melissa (David) Prince, Colorado Springs, CO; step-children, Tony (Kelly) Belk, Powells Crossroads, TN, JJ (Lesley) Belk, Austin, TX, and Alisa Belk, Jasper, TN. Roby and his wife shared 10 grandchildren, Houston, Caleb, Sarah, and Ally Brown, Logan Prince, Zane, Nolen, Rileigh, Dylan Belk and Lydia Balboa.

 

The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Central Time, on Monday, July 23, in the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Reverend Joey Manis officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Jasper.

 

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 1-3 p.m. Central Time.
