City Launches New Online Reporting System For Public Works, Code Issues

  • Tuesday, July 31, 2018
There’s a quicker and easier way for Dalton residents to report problems with roads and make service requests on any number of other issues to the city’s Public Works Department and Code Enforcement. The City of Dalton has partnered with a service called “SeeClickFix” to launch an online platform to quickly and easily report problems and also check for updates on the status of the issue until it’s resolved.

Using either the SeeClickFix web tools or the free mobile app, Dalton residents can report issues to Public Works or Code Enforcement with specific descriptions along with any pictures or videos they may have to help the city get the problem resolved quickly.
The SeeClickFix platform also gives the city’s Public Works and Code Enforcement staff a centralized issue management system to manage issues from creation to resolution.

“The Public Works Department has been using the SeeClickFix site for a few months now to test the platform with city staff entering reports that they receive from callers, and it’s worked well,” said Dalton City Administrator Jason Parker. “We think this service will make it a lot easier for our residents to get problems in their neighborhood fixed quickly, and will save city staff time that would have been used manually assigning the tasks.”

Dalton residents can use SeeClickFix not just to report problems, but also to view, comment on, and vote to fix problems submitted by their neighbors. Citizens can even create their own “watch areas” to receive notifications about all the issues reported in their community, enabling them to follow the progress of all service requests — not just the ones they report.

The SeeClickFix mobile app is available for download on Android and iPhone (search “SeeClickFix” in Google Play or the Apple App Store). In addition to the mobile apps, citizens can send reports only using the SeeClickFix links on the city’s website at cityofdalton-ga.gov/seeclickfix or seeclickfix.com/dalton.
