Shurden "Bug" Collins Jr., 86, a resident of Georgetown, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at the family residence.

Mr. Collins was the son of the late Johnnie Hayes Collins and Shurd A. Collins. His sisters, Audrey Graham, Minnie Ruth Henegar and Ida Gene Nethken, his brothers, Ellis, Hoyt, Bill, Chester and Johnny Collins also preceded him in death.

Mr. Collins was retired from Charleston Hosiery Mill with 44 years of service. He was a member of the Brittsville Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 64 years, Anna Belle Carter Collins of Georgetown, his sister, Brenda Benton and her husband Lamar of Dunlap and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Ken Purdie and Reverend Mike Exline officiating.

Graveside services and Interment will be conducted on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m. at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Dennis Collins, Shane Everett Collins, Stanley Graham, Stacy Smith, Logan Harbison and Dustin Deal serving as active casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be the Deacons of Brittsville Baptist Church.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive #22, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
