Dunn, Michael Edwin (Old Fort)

Michael Edwin Dunn, 55, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018.  He was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church, a former choir director and sang in gospel groups.  He retired from M&M Mars and was a master woodworker.   

 

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Artie Louise Sharp Dunn; six grandchildren; 4 great-grandsons; parents, Edwin Hill and Virginia Lee Gaston Dunn; sister, Michelle (Allen) Fugate, of Knoxville; step-daughters, Kimberly (Roy) Dixon, of Old Fort and Angela (Jason) Higgins, of Cartersville, Ga.  Several extended family members also survive.

 

The family expresses a special “Thank You” to dedicated friends, Polk County EMS and First Responders during his illness. 

 

A Celebration of Life will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Reverend Mitchell Gaston officiating. 

 

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17 at Higgins Funeral Home, prior to the service.
