Helen Heath
Helen Berry Heath of Chattanooga, 88, entered into her eternal rest on August 20, 2018.
She was born June 1, 1930 in Knoxville, to Hugh Nathaniel and Wilma Berry. She was married to Clark Heath on Dec. 17, 1954.
She was a stay at home mom during her children’s younger years. Later she was employed part time at her church and with Provident.
Helen was affectionately known as Mimi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her servant’s heart and her chocolate chip cookies.
She was a member of Spring Creek Road Baptist Church. She served in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and in the church library. She also was active in Merry Makers and 55 & Alive at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark B Heath.
Helen is survived by her children, Wilma (Van) Needham, Mark (Lori) Heath, and Bo (Bekita) Heath; her grandchildren, Wesley (Caitlin) Needham, Caleb (Sophia) Heath, Rachel (Jason) Hammons, Alex (Hunter) Hydas, Holly (Travis) Shrader, Hunter Heath, Colby (Kristen) Heath, Clayton (fiancée Sophie Hossler) Heath and Sydney (Drake) Barker; and great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Isaiah, Avery, Bo, Grace, Brooks, Baker, Ty, Xavier and soon-to-arrive Hampton.
Family will receive friends at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Ridge from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, in the East Chapel with Harold McClure officiating.
