Herd, Nancy Colleen

Nancy Colleen Herd, 73, of East Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 1, 2018. 

Nancy was born in St. Louis, Mo., July 27, 1945, to the late Arthur and Helen Schwaninger.  She was a resident of East Ridge and member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for 39 years where her husband, Rev. Clifford Herd, pastored for 30 years.  Nancy loved reading, sharing time with family and friends, sharing her faith, and traveling.  She and her husband served on 15 mission trips to Tanzania, Uganda, and the Ivory Coast.

Survivors are her husband of 51 years, Rev. Clifford Herd; daughter, Mary (Steve) Rebecca Lively, El Paso, Tx.; sons, Tom (Whitney) Herd, Falls Church, Va., David (Dong Youn) Herd, San Antonio, Tx.; brother, Arthur Schwaninger, Dayton, Oh.; and grandchildren, Taylor, Christopher, Troy, Nathan, and Shelby.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Barry Hildebrandt officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
