Verna Mae Tapp, 88, of Red Bank, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.

Verna was born in Jasper, Tn., on Jan. 25, 1930, to the late James and Emma Owens. She was of Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Tapp. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Darlene Tapp; sister, Betty Owens Jackson; brother, Clayton Owens; three grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, and 10-11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home in Hixson.

The funeral will be in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. on Friday, with interment to follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Jasper.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
