Ray Prescott, 82, went home to be with the Lord on September 12, 2018 in Chattanooga, TN after a long battle with vascular dementia.

He was born in Dublin, Ga. December 1935 and spent the majority of his childhood in Belle Glade, Fla. Ray was a long-time resident of Vero Beach, Fla. and a member of First United Methodist Church of Vero Beach.

 

He began his career with the Florida Department of Transportation in 1954 and retired after 40 years of service managing road and bridge construction projects.  Following a second career as a consultant with LBFH Civil Engineering in St. Lucie and Martin Counties FL, he retired again in 2005.

 

Ray was preceded in death by parents William Osgood Prescott and Annie Lou Webster Prescott of Dublin, Ga; brothers William Osgood Prescott II and Sidney Thomas Prescott. 

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra Adams Prescott; son Kyle Prescott (Julie) of Chattanooga, TN; daughter Debra Prescott (Doug Purcifull) of Silver Spring, MD; three grandchildren Hannah, Andrew, Abigail Claire Prescott all of Chattanooga, TN; twin brother Ralph Prescott (Carole) of Dahlonega, GA; as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with the Rev. Steve Rowland officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.  Mr. Prescott will be buried in Port Mayaca Cemetery in Port Mayaca, Fla.
