Red Back Hymnal Singing Set For Sunday

Monday, September 17, 2018

Ooltewah Church of God has invited Bill Hullander to bring his popular red back hymnals to their church Sunday at 6 p.m., at 9320 Lee Hwy.

Mr. Hullander will MC the old fashioned hymnal singing just as he and his wife Linda do on the third Sunday each month at 6 p.m. at their farm in Apison.

“This type of singing is beginning to really take off and we are having large numbers of people attend," said Mr. Hullander.  "They enjoy the songs like I’ll Fly Away and Victory in Jesus.

Each of these songs has a special message that we need today just as people did back in the early 1900’s when the songs were written."

Eminent Domain And Property Taxes

Surely the various governments in this area already own enough land to meet all their needs for a long time to come, and surely some of that land would be perfectly satisfactory for TVA's proposed new power center. But, as with the local animal welfare groups and their inability or unwillingness ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: Quit Embarrassing Us

Ever since I got word that a new Publix grocery store will be built on South Broad Street I have been excited. And every time our city Zoning Appeals Board seemingly does everything within its power to kill the project it is increasingly an embarrassment, a kerfuffle that has no logical explanation and sadly kowtows to a small minority that is flat-out wrong. On Wednesday the ... (click for more)
