Earnest James Ross, “BaBa” 68, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at his residence. 

He was a veteran of the United States Army and was formerly employed by the Department of Human Services. 

Earnest was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Ross; mother, Matilda Smith; daughter, LaTasha Ross; sister, Cassandra Foster; and brothers, Aaron Ross, Ruben Ross, and Kaymark Ross. 

Survivors include sons, Adrian Ross and Leslie Ross, both of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren; brothers, Willie (Theresa) Ross of Nashville and Kenneth Ross of Chattanooga; sisters, Susie (Thomas) McClarty, Fannie (David) Cooper, both of Chattanooga, and Jeanette Harris of Georgia; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 6-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

The funeral service will be Thursday, Sept. 20, at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel with Elder Ronnie Powe as the eulogist.  Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
