Dalton State Lady Roadrunners Lead By 1 Over William Carey

#2-ranked Dalton State shot (E, 288) on Monday to take the overnight lead after the first round of the 36-hole Carey Collegiate Classic at Canebrake Country Club in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Host #10 William Carey (Miss.), (+1, 289), is in second with #22 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), (+14, 302) in third. #18 Loyola (La.), (+17, 305), is in fourth, while Union (Tenn.), (+31, 319), rounds out the top-5.

Freshman Cameron Daniel continues to impress early, firing a 2-under, 70 and sits two shots off the lead held by McKenna Montgomery of Union (Tenn.).
All-American Isabel Rijos is tied for third with three other players after a round of 1-under, 71.

All-American Katie Dalton is tied for seventh after posting an even-par, 72. Junior Haejin Choe posted the last counting score for the Lady Birds with a 3-over, 75, while Hannah Gasaway is nipping on her heels after a round of 4-over, 76.

Freshmen Sutton Rollins and Katelyn Skiffen played as individuals with Rollins carding a 3-over, 75 and Skiffen posting 9-over, 81.

#2 Dalton State will look to close out and defend their title as they compete Tuesday in the final round of the Carey Collegiate Classic from Canebrake Country Club in Hattiesburg, Miss.
