Dalton State Finishes 2nd At Carey Collegiate Classic

Dalton State came up just short, firing a final round (+24, 312) to finish second in the Carey Collegiate Classic at Canebrake Country Club in Hattiesburg, Miss on Tuesday.

Host #10 William Carey, (+19, 595) took home the title with #2 Dalton State, (+24, 600), finishing a close second. Loyola (La.), (+36, 612), finished in third. #22 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), (+45, 621), came home fourth, while Union (Tenn.), (+70, 646), rounded out the top-5.

Freshman Cameron Daniel led the way for the Lady Birds posting a (+4, 76) to finish third overall.
All-Americans Isabel Rijos, (+5, 77), and Katie Dalton, (+6, 78), were right behind Daniel in fourth and sixth respectively.

Haejin Choe and Hannah Gasaway both carded a round of (+9, 81) to finish 15th and 18th. Freshmen Katelyn Skiffen and Sutton Rollins both recorded top-25 finishes with Skiffen shooting (+6, 78) and Rollins posting (+11, 83).

#2-ranked Dalton State will be back in action on October 15 & 16 when they travel to Oklahoma City, Okla. to compete in the NAIA National Championship Preview at Lincoln Park Golf Course.
