Creative Discovery Museum Presents An Event For Chocolate Lovers

  • Friday, September 7, 2018

Creative Discovery Museum’s 7th annual Chocolate Festival, fit for chocolate lovers of all kinds, will return Saturday, Sept. 15 from noon-4 p.m.

The Chocolate Festival celebrates chocolate's history, science and appeal. This year’s event will focus on the roots of chocolate and the cultural ties between chocolate production and Guatemala.

Several stations for hands-on activities will be featured during the celebration. Guests can:
make their own cocoa butter lotion;
sample different types of chocolate;
participate in kitchen lessons using chocolate as main ingredient;
and discover through a simulated environment how chocolate pods are picked, fermented, dried, roasted, and blended to make different forms of chocolate.

“Chocolate is a universal joy for children and adults. What better way to enjoy chocolate than through an event completely devoted to its lore and decadence", says Liza Blair, arts manager at Creative Discovery Museum.

During the event, a Guatemalan folkloric dance team will perform and a booth with examples of Guatemalan textiles, games and culture will be on-site for the duration of the Festival.

All Chocolate Festival activities are included with admission to the Museum. For more information, call 423-648-6054.
