Air Force Veteran Had Career In Law Enforcement; Started Several Businesses

Joseph Campbell Guidi, “Joe”, 65, of Birchwood, Tn., passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at his home.

 

Joe was born on September 2, 1953 in Weymouth, Massachusetts to Anna Margaret Beach and Joseph Guidi. He grew up in Chattanooga and was a 1971 graduate of Chattanooga High School. After high school, Joe served in the United States Air Force, servicing helicopters based in Jacksonville, Florida. After military service, Joe dedicated his career to law enforcement, including seeking public office with a 2002 campaign for Hamilton County Sheriff. He was also a born entrepreneur and started several businesses throughout his life. Most recently, Joe served as private civil processor throughout Hamilton County.

 

Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 29 years, Rebecca Leigh (Becky); son Keith Michael (Christina and children); daughters Samantha Leigh Guidi McMahon (Kane) and Taylor Alexis Guidi (John Zupancic); sister, Mary Pat Gill. He leaves behind many family, friends, colleagues, and animals who loved him dearly.

 

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved sisters, Jenny Bryson and Jolene Crane.

 

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at a separate location.

 

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization about which Joe was passionate.
