The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Brazoria Police Department from Texas in intercepting a package that contained a significant amount of cash as part of a fraudulent scheme against an elderly man in Texas. The suspects have been identified and arrested with multiple charges. Investigation determined that there have been no local victims relating to this case.

Following the interception of the package on June 28, the suspects were determined to be involved with said fraudulent scheme, which was intended to victimize an elderly male from Brazoria, Tx.

Through the course of the investigation, the suspects were identified to be Ademola Adejonwo and Jasmine Adejonwo who both have ties to a foreign country, where the fraud is believed to have originated. As the result of a search warrant in Bradley County, additional currency belonging to the elderly man in Texas was recovered from the suspects’ residence.

These suspects have been charged with financial exploitation involving an elderly adult, theft over $10,000 and destruction of evidence. The investigation has determined that this case is an isolated incident and does not involve any local residents as victims.

Officials said, "Please be advised that these scams do exist and continue to be vigilant in protecting yourself and those you care about."
