Another Lee University music student has been selected by the judges to participate in the competition on the NBC singing show, "The Voice."

Jared Herzog, 21, who is from Niceville, Fl., had three of the four coaches turn their chairs Monday night indicating they wanted him on their teams. He ended up selecting John Legend after Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani also turned.

He had performed the song "Speechless" made popular by Dan + Shay.

In the video profile shown on him before he performed, he said his girlfriend was a fan of Blake Shelton and The Voice, and he promised her he would try out.

A video of former Voice winner and former Lee student Jordan Smith wishing him well was also shown in the introduction.

Mr. Herzog now moves on to the next step of the competition, the Battle Rounds.
