Veteran parking at Home Depot
Veteran parking at Home Depot

Recently, when I pulled into the Home Depot parking lot, I was pleasantly surprised to see this sign - Veterans Parking Only - conveniently located near the front entrance of their business.

Thank you, Home Deport, for honoring American veterans in this way.

As a veteran, I too am thankful for the veteran's parking spot the Home Depot in Hixson provides.  I shop there frequently and I applaud their business.

But I do most of my home repair/remodeling spending at Lowe's where veterans like me receive a 10 percent discount on everything every single day--in addition to ample veteran's parking.  To those veterans who aren't familiar with the benefit, I think you need to check it out.  It's saved me a bundle.

Thank you, Lowe's, for the extra savings. and thank you, Home Depot, for the parking spot.

Salary Increases Needed, Alinsky Tactics Are Not

I have advocated and fought for increases in teacher salaries for educators over the decades. Beyond mere rhetoric, I actually talk to those policymakers at the state level who set the budget which largely determines salaries. We know that many teachers still struggle to support their own families, particularly in places where the cost of living is higher. That is unacceptable. ... (click for more)

I hear people all the time whining and complaining on here and other social media outlets about how bad the Valley has gotten or it's not the same Valley we have grown up in. You know it's not. There are several reasons why this is so true. However, we the citizens are the ones to blame. When I was picking up trash along Brown's Ferry I can't tell you how many times I picked ...
