Carolyn Manzer, 60, Killed In Single-Vehicle Wreck On Hixson Pike On Wednesday Night

Carolyn Manzer, 60, was killed in a wreck on Hixson Pike on Wednesday night.

It happened just after 7 p.m. in the 3800 block.

The single vehicle crash occurred at 3800 Hixson Pike. The Chattanooga Police Traffic / DUI Division responded to the scene.

A silver Scion iQ was traveling south on Hixson Pike through a curve. For unknown reasons, the vehicle went straight instead of negotiating the curve and ran off the right side of the roadway, striking a telephone pole.

After striking the telephone pole, the car went airborne and struck a steel I-beam base of a billboard sign with the roof of the vehicle, completely wrapping around the I-beam.

Hamilton County EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the driver, Ms. Manzer deceased.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
