Officer Released From Hospital After Being Shot At Waffle House On 23rd Street; Another Person Shot

A Chattanooga Police officer, who was shot at the Waffle House on 23rd Street early Sunday morning, has been released from the hospital.

A second man, age 32, was shot as well, but his condition has not been given. Both the officer and the man were taken to a local hospital. 

The incident happened around 4 a.m.

Police said the officer saw a disorder in the parking lot of the Waffle House, and went outside to break it up. He said he saw a woman holding a gun and as he tried to disarm her the officer and another man were shot. 

Police said the suspect is Brandi Burton, 26.  Warrants are out for her arrest for aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
