Alice Maddox
Alice Shamblin Maddox, 87, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at a local health care facility.
A graduate of Calhoun High School, she retired as an office worker from Hardwick Clothes after 43 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland where she worked in the nursery department for many years. Her passion was to help others. Alice wanted to be remembered as one who was blessed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Marie Melton Shamblin; husband, James Willis Maddox; and sister, Mary Lee Shamblin.
Survivors include her brothers, William Henry (Eleanor Kay) Shamblin of Harrison, James A. (Alice) Shamblin of Franklin and Wes R. (Polly) Shamblin of Calhoun; sister, Patsy King of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews.
The service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 21, in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Wickes officiating.
Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Calhoun Cemetery with nephews, Joe Shamblin, Mickey Shamblin, Steve Shamblin, Barry King, Richie King, Stan King and Cody Keck serving as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 5–7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
