Gerard Leo, 61, Killed In 2-Vehicle Crash By National Cemetery

Gerard Leo, a financial services advisor from Chattanooga, was the victim in a two-vehicle wreck by the National Cemetery early Monday afternoon.

The driver of the other vehicle, Jerome Golson, 62, was injured.

Police said Mr. Leo, 61, was traveling south on Holtzclaw Avenue when he ran a red light.

His vehicle was then T-boned by a Volvo S60 driven by Mr. Golson.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Mr. Golson, who had been traveling west on Bailey Avenue, was taken to the hospital.

Police said, "At this time, no charges are being filed" against Mr. Golson.

The two shattered vehicles wound up together next to the cemetery after the crash at the intersection of Bailey Avenue and Holtzclaw Avenue.

The intersection was closed for several hours after the wreck.
