Woman, 26, Killed When She Gets Out Of Car In The Middle Of I-75 Near Volkswagen Drive

A 26-year-old woman was struck and killed on Thursday night when she got out of a car in the middle of I-75 near Volkswagen Drive.

The victim was identified as Dyla Francois.

Police said a Honda CRV was traveling southbound on I-75. Ms. Francois exited the vehicle while it was traveling in the middle lanes of the interstate.

She was then struck by another vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip via the CPD Mobile App. You can remain anonymous.

Afterward, police temporarily closed I-75 southbound from Volkswagen Drive to Exit 7/Bonny Oaks Drive. Motorists were asked to use alternate routes.
