A $10 million Circuit Court lawsuit has been filed against William Cheek and his father, Donovan Cheek, in the July 23 traffic death of Haven West, 23. It was filed by her mother, Dawn McGlamery.
William Check is facing a vehicular homicide charge in connection with the fatal wreck in Red Bank. Cheek, 25, is also charged with DUI, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
Passenger Ms.
West was ejected and died in the 3:30 a.m. wreck in the 1100 block of Ashmore Avenue.
The white Toyota 4-Runner driven by Cheek landed on its top. Police found him and another man sitting by some gas pumps nearby.
The officer said Cheek smelled of alcohol.
The suit, filed by attorney Herbert Thornbury, says the vehicle was owned by Donovan Cheek.
It says William Cheek was driving in a negligent and careless fashion.
