PlainviewLED Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony For Expansion

  • Thursday, September 12, 2019

Todd Plain, CEO of PlainviewLED, announced the local expansion of his company with a groundbreaking for the construction of a state of the art 10,000-square foot LED sign assembly plant, by Frizzell Construction Co., at a location off Bonny Oaks Drive and Highway 153.

This is a local-based, locally-operated, family-owned small business that has done business nation-wide, regionally, and locally. This expansion comes eight years after he sold his first LED sign and has seen growth from two employees, Mr.

Plain and his son Josh Plain, to a current staff of 12 and will experience continual growth with the completion of the new local assembly plant.

This business model fits well with the business growth in Hamilton County, as small businesses make up 93% of all local business. And according to an SBA study, small businesses utilizing LED signs realize a 15-150% increase in business, which could easily allow each customer to recoup their initial investment quickly.

Officials said, "PlainviewLED offers 21st century, cutting-edge technology, with the development of a cloud based proprietary software, developed by Derek Markey COO, used in our products. This technology allows live feeds for updates in order to change information to the LED signs remotely. This technology could easily be taught in the Hamilton County School system to students who could operate their own on-campus LED signage, scoreboards, etc. and easily transfer these skills to the workplace upon graduation.

"PlainviewLED’s business philosophy is simple: offer state of the art LED products and technology to our customers, impeccable customer service, and share our blessings by giving back to our community as opportunities present themselves. So far it is working.

The ground-breaking event announcing the expansion was held at the new location on Powers Ct. The event was well attended by local and state officials such as Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger, Hamilton Co. Assessor of Property Marty Haynes, Hamilton Co. Trustee Bill Hullander, Hamilton Co. Commissioner Randy Fairbanks, Chief Deputy Austin Garrett, Hamilton Co. EMS Public Information Officer Amy Maxwell, Hamilton Co. Department of Education Board Member Joe Smith, City of Chattanooga Honorable Russell Bean State of Tennessee Economic Development and Tourism Department members Taylor Belcher and Dennis Tumlin, along with business partners from SmartBank, Frizzell Construction Co, Tranco Logistics, Watkins Trucking, and others.
