Fire Causes $50,000 In Damage To House On Bailey Avenue; 3 Residents Escape

Chattanooga firefighters worked a house fire late Thursday night in the 2400 block of Bailey Avenue. 

It happened at 11:30 p.m. 

 

Three occupants got out of the home safely before crews arrived. There were no injuries.

 

Engine 5, Ladder 5, Squad 1, Engine 9,  Engine 15, Squad 13, Battalion 1, and Battalion 2 (Red Shift) responded.

Hamilton County EMS and the Chattanooga Police Department also provided support on the scene. 

 

There was an estimated $50,000 in damage to the home. 

 

The fire was ruled as accidental. It started on the back porch and appears to be from discarded cigarettes.
