  • Friday, January 31, 2020

A car crash on Hixson Pike Friday morning had the road closed for several hours.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office traffic investigators responded to the 7300 block of Hixson Pike around 7:15 a.m.

Police said both parties were trapped in their vehicles off the roadway.  Due to a large amount of debris on the roadway, a portion of Hixson Pike was closed for the cleanup.

According to the preliminary investigation, a Nissan Maxima was traveling northbound on Hixson Pike when the vehicle crossed the center line striking a Chevrolet Impala head on in the southbound lane of Hixson Pike. Both parties were extricated from their vehicles and transported to a local hospital with what are considered serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department, Soddy Daisy Fire Department, Chattanooga Fire Department and TDOT assisted and helped re-open Hixson Pike.
