JoAnn Blake was born on November 27, 1939, to Fred and Christine Jones in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee. JoAnn was a devoted mother of five children. JoAnn was hardworking and kind hearted. She always made her presence known. She was known to everyone as “Big Bad JoJo”. She made her transition on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at the age of 80.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents Christine Spence and Fred Jones; brothers, James E. Jones, Freddy Jones; and sister, Norma Jean Price.
JoAnn leaves to cherish her memories children, Teir Blake, Sonjia Blake, Tonjia (Odis Sr.) Gaines, Fredrick (Knecole) Blake, Paulette (Robert) Jackson; sister, Tardy Faye (Bernard Sr.) King, Spencer (Brenda) Jones; brother-in-law, James M. Price; and sister-in-law, Wanda Lynn Jones; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
JoAnn will lie in state on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 12-5 p.m. and again on Friday, Oct. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services-Franklin-Strickland Chapel.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens-East.
