The subject of a viral video had her case bound to the Grand Jury on Tuesday after General Sessions Court Judge Gerald Webb Jr. listened to the preliminary hearing. Kuchava Moore, 31, became infamous after a Facebook live video depicted her shooting another woman from a vehicle. Visibly hobbled and using crutches to walk up to the bench, the victim testified about what led up to her being shot.

“I have three bullet holes in my left calf, two in my right calf, and one in my hip,” she said.

She told the judge that she and Ms. Moore had an antagonistic history before the incident. She said Ms. Moore would make “social media statuses, nitpicking me” on Facebook. Both women had been involved with the same man, with the victim’s relationship being characterized as “on-again, off-again.” The victim said she sent Ms. Moore a friend request so they could talk about their issues, but it was not accepted.

She said she made it clear “she wanted her one,” which meant she wanted to fight Ms. Moore. The victim believed a fistfight would resolve any issues the two had. After this, the victim and her friend traveled over to Moore’s neighborhood on Arlington Avenue. and began to Facebook live. During this Facebook livestream, Ms. Moore commented several times.

Eventually, Ms. Moore and who appeared to be her sister drove up next to the victim. From about three feet away, the victim said she began to motion at the vehicle and let the occupants know she was ready to fight.

“I was like ‘Come on, Come on.’ I was ready to fight,” said the witness. She then said she saw Ms. Moore reaching for something. The victim thought she was reaching for the door so she could exit the vehicle and begin fighting. Instead, she pulled out a handgun and began shooting.

“How many times she shot me made me believe she was trying to kill me,” said the victim. “I was in disbelief. I looked down and was like ‘Oh (expletive), I’m bleeding.’”

When defense attorney Kevin Loper asked if the victim was armed, she vehemently denied having a gun on her person at the time. While she said she had a permit to carry, she said her gun was in her own car about 30 feet away. The victim also explained a December interaction, where police were called on her and their mutual love interest after they allegedly stalked Ms. Moore. The victim said they were trying to get the man’s phone back from Ms. Moore.

Attorney Loper then gave special attention to the fact that the victim purposefully went into Ms. Moore’s neighborhood looking for a fight, saying, “So my client was driving in her neighborhood, and you went to her neighborhood?”

After listening to this testimony, Judge Webb moved the case to the Grand Jury. Because of the Facebook video, the judge said that any testimony as to what happened would be easily proven credible or false depending on how it compared to what was seen on screen.

“There is a video that I have not seen but have heard about,” said Judge Webb, “and the proof is in the pudding in this case. Any discrepancies will be cleared up by the video.”

Ms. Moore is charged with attempted murder and possession of a handgun during the commission of a felony.
