The Third Game At Soddy Daisy High

  • Wednesday, February 5, 2020

I witnessed three great games Tuesday night at Soddy Daisy High School gymnasium.  The Soddy Daisy Lady Trojans won the girls game and the Ooltewah Owls won the boys game.  There was lots of cheering and good spirit in the stands for both schools.  Both teams should be praised for their efforts.

But wait, what about that third game?  Who was it?  Who won?  What was the score?  Who cheered for whom?  What about those introductions!!!

The third game was between the Soddy Daisy special needs students and well...the Soddy Daisy special needs students.  The winner was the entire gymnasium.  When the first basket was made, the roof came off the gym, from both sides of the stands.  When baskets were missed everyone went ahhhhh.  More baskets were missed than made so there was lots of ahhhhhh.  I don't remember the score, all I remember is the fun I was having along with everyone else. The roar never left the gym during the game.  So, everyone won.

All you need to do is talk to anybody who witnessed this third game at Soddy Daisy and they will tell you what I saw.  Lots of young people from both schools cheering for kids that needed and loved to be cheered for.  Of course the adults did the same thing.  There were lots of tears of happiness on the faces of many.

So many people were made happy in that halftime, "third basketball game."  I know I was!

Way to go, Soddy Daisy.
