CSO Closes Office, Updates Cancellations

  • Monday, March 16, 2020

The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera has canceled concerts through April 3.

CSO Executive Director Samantha Teter released the following information:

"Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we navigate the current health crisis that has caused most events in our area, including ours, to shut down. Currently, concerts are cancelled through April 3. Ticketholders to Lights! Camera! Pops! on March 21, Disney in Concert Tale as Old as Time on March 28, and Dona Nobis Pacem on April 2 are encouraged to donate their ticket back to the CSO, or exchange their tickets for a future performance (even into the 2020/21 season). Refunds will also be available for all patrons with tickets to cancelled concerts by request. Please contact the CSO Box Office at cortenzo@chattanoogasymphony.org with your preference, and please give us 5-10 business days to process. Refund requests will not be honored after the cancelled event date, and ticket purchases will be turned into donations at that time.

"At this time, we are not making any decisions on any April or May concert and event closures, so please stay tuned for information as it becomes available.

"In a continuing effort to keep staff and patrons safe, we are closing our office to the general public beginning tomorrow, March 17. While limited staff will be in the office, we ask that patrons conduct their business via email, phone, or mail. We encourage current subscribers to renew as normal for our 2020/21 season. If you wish to renew or purchase a subscription in person, please call or email the box office to set up a time to come in at 267-8583 or cortenzo@chattanoogasymphony.org.

"Because we will be implementing remote work for staff and staggered in-office hours, please bear with us on response times to your inquiries as we transition to this new work model.

"You will be receiving an email soon about how you can further assist the CSO during this challenging time. I encourage you to keep the CSO musicians and staff in your thoughts. Thank you for your valued patronage, and stay healthy."
