Mildred Davenport
Mildred Virginia Bray Davenport, 90, transitioned on Sunday, July 19, 2020, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She was a lifetime member of Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church, where she enjoyed singing with the choir, serving on the Startess Board, and in the Missionary Society. Fishing and gardening were favorite pastimes and she loved time with family and friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Thomas J. Davenport; parents, George and Mattie Bray; grandson, Thomas J. Davenport IV; and 13 siblings.
Cherishing her memories are her three children, son, Thomas J. Davenport III of Chattanooga; daughters, Theresa (Judson) Odom of Chattanooga, and Yvonne Taylor of East Point, Ga.; three grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
Mildred will lie in state on Tuesday, July 28, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the family service to follow at noon with Pastor Robert Henry as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
