UTC's Cole Strange Named To Phil Streele's FCS Preseason Team

Sunday, July 26, 2020

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga senior Cole Strange earned his first preseason All-American honors this week.  He was recently named to Phil Steele’s FCS Preseason All-American Fourth Team.  Steele also released his preseason all-conference teams, which included 13 Mocs in the Southern Conference listings.

Strange is a three-year starter on the offensive line where he has played in 33 games with 29 starts.  The Knoxville, Tenn., native is a versatile lineman who started first 11 game at left guard in 2019 before playing the last six halves of the year at center due to injuries.

A Psychology major, Strange is a two-time Academic All-SoCon honoree and was a Freshman All-American in 2017.

Joining Strange on Steele’s preseason All-SoCon first team were seniors Bryce Nunnelly (WR), Chris James (TE) and Brandon Dowdell (DB) and junior Devonnsha Maxwell (DL).  Senior Jordan Jones (DB), juniors McClendon Curtis (OL) and Ty Boeck (LB) and sophomores Ailym Ford (RB) and Jay Person (DL) made the second team.

Rounding out the Mocs representation on the third team were Dowdell (RS), seniors Reggie Henderson (WR), Harrison Moon (OL) and Jerrell Lawson (DB) and sophomore Cody Loszewski (LS).

Season tickets for the Mocs' 2020 home schedule are on sale now.  Fans are encouraged to purchase or renew online prior to the June 30 deadline.  Be sure to check out this COVID-19 related information concerning Mocs football season tickets.

UTC opens its five-game home schedule on Saturday, Sept. 19, with a 6:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) kickoff against North Alabama.

Where Are Our Educational Priorities? - And Response (2)

If only our institutes of higher learning put as much emphasis, effort and financial investment into their academic departments as they do into their football “programs”. $9.3 million in annual salary for a football coach? Really? Are there anywhere professors who earn even a fractional smidgen of that amount? Where are our priorities? Is the “commitment to consistently winning ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: Vols Are Resuscitated!

I am a big fan of magic tricks. Sometimes I’ll sit down with YouTube and watch a lot of dazzling stuff. My favorites include Darcy Oakes with the doves, or David Blaine spitting up live frogs from “the aquarium in my stomach.” Really intellectual stuff … I can watch it for hours … but the best magic is “real magic,” much like the University of Tennessee jerked from the top hat Thursday, ...
