Mildred Ann Finley, 71, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020, in a local hospital.  

She was a 1966 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.  She earned her associate's degree from Chattanooga City College.  Mildred was a member of Washington Park Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Will Henry McCorkle, Mattie and Jessie Humphrey; brothers, Billy McCorkle and Johnnie McCorkle; sister, Catherine Sheppard. 

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Emanuel “Jack” Finley; sons, Napoleon Akridge and LaJuan Finley; daughter, Christie Finley, all of Chattanooga; stepsons, Eric Finley of Dalton, GA and Kenneth Finley of Nashville; four grandchildren; four great-grand-children; sisters, Mamie (Scott) Slaughter of Denver, Sadie Talley of Chattanooga, and Shelia (Michael) Peoples of Denver; sister-in-law, Eula McCorkle of Chicago; aunts, Betty Pasley of Chattanooga and Gertrude Pasley of Louisville, KY; and a host of other relatives and friends.  

She will lie in state on Monday, Aug. 3, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Pastor William Caldwell, Jr. will give the words of comfort.
