Janie Gouge passed away at the age of 63, on Thursday, December 31, 2020.
Janie was born on Oct. 21, 1957, in Jefferson City, Tn., to Jim and Dara Gouge. She graduated from Central High School in Chattanooga. She received a BA in vocal performance from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga and a MBA from Phoenix University. She taught piano and voice lessons for 33 years and served many area churches directing children’s choirs, singing, and playing the piano. Later, she started an accounting business, Delgado and Gouge Services with her best friend, Gina Delgado.
Janie was a multi-talented person in music, poetry, and needle work. She loved Jesus, her family, friends, and clients. She was a Christian influence to all in her life.
Janie was preceded in death by her father, Jim Gouge.
She is survived by her two daughters, Heather Brummer (Stephen), Amy Ostewig, four grandsons, Daniel Brummer, Chasin Brummer, Benjamin Brummer and Myles Richardson, Mother, Dara Gouge King and brother Paul Gouge (Lisa).
A private graveside service will be held for the family. A memorial service will take place at a later time and place to be announced.
In lieu of flowers and education Go Fund Me account has been set up for Janie’s four grandsons.
