Ina Lee Allen Eslinger of McDonald, Tennessee, passed away right before the dawn of the new year on December 31, 2020.  Ina lived a purposeful and independent life caring for her family, her farm and her animals until the end.

She was born the youngest of six children in Ider, Al., on Oct. 7, 1928.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Eslinger, parents Ora Octa and William Alonzo Allen and sisters Dreva, Josie, Lola and Jessie Mae and brother Guinn.

She is survived by her son, Ray (Ann) Eslinger, daughter, Lynn Eslinger, grandchildren, Will Eslinger and Meg (Ben) Shuptrine and many special nieces and nephews and their children.

When she moved to Chattanooga she worked for Dupont, then later served as office manager and bookkeeper in the family business, Eslinger Contracting Company. Ina found fulfillment in taking care of others.  She believed that was her highest calling and it was her greatest joy.  She enjoyed being known as a hard worker. She was a lifelong student of nature and the outdoors cultivating beautiful flower beds, huge vegetable gardens, an orchard and vineyard. Her knowledge and giftedness with plants and gardening fed her family and others and have left beauty behind that will be enjoyed for years.

She was a faithful member of Tyner Church of Christ where she was known as a friend to everyone.

Ina will be interred at the Lakewood Memorial Garden in a private graveside service officiated by Minister John Cupp.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to a church or charity of your choice.

Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home, Valley View Chapel.
