Betty Louise Nelson Watson, 88, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 22, 2021, at her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer H. and Bonnie Brown Nelson; husband, Earl H. Watson; brother, Homer B. Nelson; and son-in-law, Michael “Pete” Craig.

Louise is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Bob Lankford and Cindy and Carl Flemister, and her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Kristy Watson; grandchildren: Michael and Donna Craig, Jan and Mike Cross, Rob and Sonia Lankford, Gregory and Sydney Lankford, Carl and Missy Flemister, Kelly Flemister, Lane Watson, Logan Watson, Lance Watson, and Tyla Watson; great-grandchildren: Brooke Craig, Brandi Craig, Brylee Craig, Layla Cross, Aubree Cross, Collin Lankford, Sara Lankford, Justin Osborne, Kinsey Lankford, Liam Flemister, and Kyle Whaley; great-great grandchildren, Tyler Whaley, Kaden Whaley, and Logan Whaley; and sisters, Lillian Shuler and Shelia and Dan McNeese. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Louise was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and spent her life as a homemaker.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate love and care that was given to Mrs. Watson.

Funeral services for Louise will be Thursday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Brown and Rev. Adam Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Louise’s grandsons will be honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Feb. 24, beginning at 5 p.m. at Love Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1205 Antioch Drive, Dalton, GA 30721.
