Sylvia Whaley
Sylvia Jane Martin-Whaley, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021.
She was a faithful member of Greater Second Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother’s Board until her health began to fail.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Lewis and Nellie Mae Martin-Scruggs.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Beverly (James) Appling of Chattanooga; devoted granddaughter, Countess (Dee) Marshall; a host of cousins and friends.
A public viewing will be from 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on Monday, March 15, followed by a 1 p.m. funeral service in the chapel.
Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
