Excel Rehab & Sports opened their doors to the East Brainerd community one year ago on March 2, 2020. The East Brainerd clinic, at 7443 Commons Blvd., Suite 112, behind Home Depot, became the third location to accompany the therapy clinics located in Hixson and Northshore. Known by physicians and their patients for having a 'Patient First Mission,' Excel Rehab & Sports is recognized in the Southeast for their outpatient rehabilitation services and 99.9 percent Patient Satisfaction rating based on more than 12 years of patient survey data.
Patients can request care through their doctor's office or contact them directly at the Hixson, Northshore, or the East Brainerd location by calling 254-5461 and will be scheduled within 24-48 hours.
"Opening our third location in East Brainerd last year, despite the COVID shelter-at-home quarantine issued two weeks after opening, and a tornado that followed, gave us increased strength and determination, says Jeremy Shook, chief of Physical Therapy. We learned that pain doesn't care about pandemics or storms and remained true to our mission, adjusted to a changing environment, and continued to provide our patients with the therapy they deserve."
In its first year, the East Brainerd location experienced a growing need for the one-on-one, hands-on therapy the company provides. Jeff Potts, clinical director of Physical Therapy -East Brainerd responded by adding Ben McChesney, PT, DPT, COMT in April and Kacey Hawkins, PT, MPT, COMT in August 2020, a team he reunited to bring more than 30 years of Physical and Upper Extremity Therapy experience to the community. For the past year, they have worked alongside the other Excel Rehab & Sports teams in Northshore and Hixson; to heal and serve the area, one patient at a time.
The company’s Physical and Upper Extremity Therapy teams care for pain in various areas such as low back and neck, shoulder, knee, hip, ankle, and arthritic joint symptoms. They also have expertise in postsurgical rehabilitation, including fracture repair, ACL reconstruction, total knee, joint replacement, rotator cuff repairs, neck and back surgeries, and more.
