Lowell Everett Jones, 80, of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

Lowell was born in Dayton, Tn., and graduated from high school in Grand Rapids, Mi., in 1960 and his love for the Chattanooga area brought him back home. He was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Rossville, and retired after 50 years of service with Combustion/Alstom. Lowell was an excellent and dedicated gardener who often visited and tended to his large garden in Dayton. He took pride in his family, home, and vehicles. Lowell kept his vehicles immaculately clean and his yard well-manicured. He cared deeply about his loved ones safety, happiness, and wellbeing with all of his heart, mind, and soul.  Lowell will be most remembered for his iconic phrase, “I love you, I’m praying for you, be careful, put your seatbelt on.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Betty Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Barbara Jones; children: Beverly Cotter, Cathy Jones, and Traci Sharp; step-children: Mike (Diann) Jarvis, Mechelle (Matthew) Khodayari, Mitchell (Julie) Jarvis, and Mark Jarvis; eleven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren, Kyler and Lincoln; siblings, Larry (Liz) Jones and Doris (Mark) Dufresne; several nieces and nephews; and cousins, Jerry and Ben Green.
