Nellie Ann Jones Davis of Chattanooga, Tennessee, transitioned from this life on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.

 

Nellie was born December 13, 1952, to the late Dorothy Roseberry Jones.  

 

She accepted Christ at an early age at the Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church. She later united with Love Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Kevin Smith, where she faithfully attended until her health began to decline.  She always enjoyed her phone calls with her pastor, Elder Gerald O'Guinn.  She never would tell you what they talked about, but it just seemed to make her happy that they talked.

 

Nellie was a graduate of Riverside High School, Class of 1970.  She was a former employee  of Brainerd United Methodist Church and Chattanooga Public Schools food service.

 

Nellie was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Archie Roseberry and Zelma Shelton Roseberry; paternal grandparents Rufus and Mozel Anderson,  and stepfather, Walter R. Jones.

 

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Marvin Jones-Roseberry and Clinton (April) Waller; a daughter Janica Davis; father, Alonzo Anderson; sisters Mary (David) Morris,  and Phyllis Brown; brothers Harold Brockman and Phillip Brown, all of Chattanooga, 19 grandchildren, Demetrous  Porter, Jr., Kiara Davis, Murfreesboro, TN, Javan Parks, Victoria Williams, Murfreesboro, TN, Morgan Conyers , Savannah Waller, Avery Waller, Emery Waller; Marnaysha  Roseberry, Maliyah Roseberry, Mariyah Roseberry, Christian Roseberry, Deante Parks, Kejuan Parks, Teresa Nikki" Fletcher, Quinton Shackelford, Tyler Shackelford, Precious Braswell, Janecia McKevie; seven great- grandchildren; aunts, Mary Roseberry, of Spring Hill, Maryland, and Mozelle W. Roseberry, of Chattanooga; son-in-law Joseph Parks; very dear nieces, Chrystal  Morris, Glynis Morris-Smith, and Davida Morris-Hardaway; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, at J. P. Franklin Funeral Home.

 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. at Faith United Baptist Church, at 1800 Mulberry Street. Elder Dwight Clark officiating and Elder Gerald O'Guinn eulogist.  

 

Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
