Scenic City Classic To Host Baseball Talent From Across The Country

McCallie Tournament To Take Place On Four Local Campuses

  • Monday, March 14, 2022

The 2022 McCallie Baseball Scenic City Classic, likely to be one of the best Classic events in some time, has a loaded tournament field with talented squads.

This year’s Classic will be played from March 15-19.

It will be held at four area sites and includes 15 teams from five states.

Visiting the Chattanooga area from Virginia is Blacksburg and The Miller School. The Mavericks of The Miller School have won three straight VISAA State Championships and are coached by former Major League Baseball pitcher Billy Wagner.

Also competing in this year’s Classic is Caney Valley of Oklahoma, Tolono Unity of Illinois, and Mississippi’s Magnolia Heights, a reigning State Champion.

Representing the State of Georgia are Norcross, Pace Academy, and Rabun Gap. Pace features Preseason All-American R.J. Austin. Tennessee programs competing in the event include Baylor, Bradley Central, Franklin County, Silverdale Academy, Soddy Daisy, and host McCallie. Baylor and McCallie are ranked in the top three in the Division II-AA preseason poll. Silverdale and Bradley Central are top-10 preseason teams in Division II-A and Division I-4A respectively.

Games will be played at McCallie, Baylor, Bradley Central, and Silverdale Academy.

A tournament pass is $10.00 and allows the patron entry to all games at all sites on each day. Individual tickets for a specific day are $5.00 and are valid at each site that day. All passes and tickets can be purchased on the GoFan app or at the links below.
