Deartra Andrews “Cardi D” Skillern
Deartra Andrews “Cardi D” Skillern, 49, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in a local hospital.
She was born on. Aug. 17, 1972, in Chattanooga to the late Robert L. Andrews and Alberta Tanksley. She was a 1990 graduate of Brainerd High School. Deartra was a member of Faith In Christ Baptist Church, where she served as choir president and secretary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; aunts, Minnie Tankersley and Viola Tankersley.
Survivors include her son, Charles Skillern, Jr.; brother, Gregory Moore both of Chattanooga; sisters/best friends, Donna Booker and Aretina Bates; aunts, Angela Skillern and Maeola Shropshire; a special aunt, Delois Domineck; uncle, Fred (Joan) Tanksley of Las Vegas, NV; grandchild, Keyara Skillern of Chattanooga; cousins, Eric Tanksley, Jeffrey Tanksley, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Skillern, the Brown, Tanksley, Andrews and Shropshire families; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Deartra will lie in state on Sunday, July 24, at Taylor Funeral Home at 9 a.m.
Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Terrance Hannah as the eulogist.
