James Richard “Jimmy” Goodwyn, III, 44, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Friday morning, August 5, 2022, in a local hospital. He was born in Stoneham, Ma. on July 24, 1978. He and his family moved to the Cleveland area when he was a child. Jimmy was of the Christian faith. He was a very talented carpenter who could build anything from start to finish. Jimmy enjoyed motor cross racing and spending time with his family. He loved being a mentor to anyone he could, and working with children of all ages.
He is preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents, James Goodwyn, Sr., and Joan Kerkam.
Jimmy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Salome Goodwyn; two daughters, Kyrra Goodwyn and Lydia Goodwyn; two sons, Kaleb Goodwyn and Isaac Goodwyn; mother and stepfather, Jean Ellen Gager (Joe); father and stepmother, James Goodwyn, Jr. (Mande); eight siblings, Kimberly Goodwyn, Dominic "D.J." O’Donnell, Kolby Goodwyn, Kerrick Goodwyn, Kyle Goodwyn, Kaiden Goodwyn and Kamden Goodwyn; maternal grandparents, Frank & Hazel Goodwin; numerous other extended family members; and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 3 p.m. in the Cleveland chapel of Companion Funeral Home, with the Reverend Richie Halverson officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
The interment and committal service will follow in the Lee Cemetery in McDonald, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
