I have lived in the Soddy Daisy area off and on since the 1980’s. Prior family members have farmed here since 1950. A few cows and chickens, and a life with minimal government is happiness to me.
Soddy Daisy government is right sized, and embraces an attitude that they are here at the will of the people, not to bully and dictate as some municipalities do regularly. Disrespect, self-importance towards citizens just oozes from some local governments, not in Soddy or Daisy. I do hope that growth does not strip away Soddy Daisy’s understanding of their government function. Growth is this huge double-edged sword, and it often steals away the core character of the community. Finding a balance in growth is no easy task.
Who could blame people for seeking out a Soddy Daisy way of life?
The city of Soddy Daisy is breath taking by Waldens Ridge, and rich in history. Yes, I am in love with where I live, its family founded small business, and government attitude.
At present, I am learning about who the founders of the Soddy Daisy community were. The Soddy Daisy and Montlake Historical Association is opening my eyes to the huge coal mining operations that established this community, and their bravery during WWII sacrifices. The story of Soddy Daisy is the most interesting subject. I just finished reading about the Gold Star families and survivors public walk through the Historical Association’s Facebook page. It is the most moving piece of getting to know who Soddy Daisy really is.
Every item I need is within the confines of the of Soddy Daisy. Everything is here, but an emergency room.
Seconds count during a stroke or heart attack, is absolute truth. I have learned with family survival, the timeline from being admitted, detection of troponin, and survivability of a heart attack is a direct function of arriving at diagnosis and surgical intervention, such as stints for example. Timely treatment determines outcomes, and many people are lost during the timeline of seeking the diagnosis required for the surgical fix. Strokes are so common, as well, and emergency room administered blood thinners save lives. It is that simple.
I didn’t understand this to the core, until I lived it with family. I was in the midst of losing the most important person to me, and clueless about the dynamic of the situation. My family member seemed too well to be dangerously ill. Without timely troponin detection, the normal EKG would have ensured a release at a time when the smoldering fire had not fully ignited.
It can take almost on hour from Soddy Daisy to the nearest emergency room during business hours. There is no reason for this circumstance, as Soddy Daisy is a real booming hub of commerce these days, and heavily sought out residential community. If you need to understand Soddy Daisy’s demand, try to buy a home here.
I feel that Soddy Daisy has long been underserved with medical emergency room presence. A modern and new emergency room would be a safety net, game changer. I am thrilled that Parkridge Hospital has demonstrated the emergency room need front and center, which is common horse sense to me.
Parkridge Hospital is willing to bank on this need, and invest capital to serve this slice of Heaven. Get the plow, and let’s get this emergency medical testing and treatment facility built for our community.
Let’s get this done for the best interest of the Soddy Daisy community.
