Roberson, Donlee Elizabeth Smiddie

Always Cheerful, Positive, And Smiling

  • Tuesday, January 31, 2023

Donlee Elizabeth Smiddie Roberson is finally home! Donlee’s heavenly homecoming was on Thursday, January 26, 2023.

She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on April 8, 1947, during a thunderstorm. How appropriate for someone who loved a grand entrance!

Donlee’s favorite job was as a payroll clerk for ProGroup golf company in Chattanooga. Because she was always cheerful, positive, and smiling, Donlee was often referred to as ProGroup’s cheerleader. She was definitely her children’s biggest cheerleader and the best mom.

Donlee relied heavily on her faith in Jesus Christ and knew He would be with her during the trials and tribulations of life. Donlee was a faithful member of Second Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School and participated in the Margaret Winslett Circle.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Elmer Smiddie; mother, Norma Martin Bowen; brother, Fred DeMars Bowen; husband, Harold Miller Roberson and son, Todd Christopher Roberson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Natasha Roberson Condra (Kevin); brother, Kelley Smiddie; sister, Tina Bowen Westfield (Danny); best friend, Jeanne Brewer Tatum; grand dog, Jennie Louise Condra and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her sister, Tina Bowen Westfield; dear family friend, Tracy Tatum Choate, Dr. Donald Ziegler, and the extraordinary staff at Abby Mae Facility for their love, devotion, and care for Donlee during her lengthy illness.

A celebration of life will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 700 Pine Street, Chattanooga, Tn. 37402 on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the King’s Chest Fund at Second Presbyterian Church.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
