No Need To Ask

A song by Sade reminds me of California Governor Gavin Newsom. After numerous PR stunts including promoting Chinese EVs in China, he ordered a cleanup of drug and crime infested San Francisco prior to a visit by Chinese President Xi. As Joe Biden kowtowed to his pal Xi, Newsom was there grinning for the cameras like a Hollywood celeb on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre.

This devotee of progressivism as mayor and then governor, presided over the decline of the “city by the bay” as many have fled his city and state.
He can pretend things are great, but why did he erect more fencing and walls in San Francisco recently than were in East Berlin if he thinks walls are stupid and pure political theater? (CBS 3/11/19).

Even as his state faces $30 billion in debt, Newsom proposed reparations estimated to cost $800 billion. Knowing it was smoke and mirrors it didn’t take this hipster long before he was dancing down another yellow brick road mandating gender neutral bathrooms in all schools. After all, it’s not his money.

Newsom’s potential for hypocrisy knows no boundaries as evidenced in his own mandated COVID closures, some of the longest and strictest in the nation. During the quarantine, it was revealed he was partying at the posh French Laundry, unmasked. Then as state schools remained closed, Newsom’s children returned to “in-person” learning in their private schools (Politico, M Mays 10/30/20).

Nov. 30 when he debates Governor Ron DeSantis, will he explain why his in-laws fled California for Florida in the pandemic? (DailyMail 9/3/22). Will he retract his falsehood on X that “a city in TN (Murfreesboro) passed a law banning being gay in public”(Daily Wire 11/17/23)?

How do the lyrics go? No need to ask, he’s a smooth operator.
